Conspiracy Theories

“The reason why conspiracy theories are so psychologically attractive is because they use clever tricks that the mind is partly predisposed to want to accept”  — Psychologist Sander van der Linden, author of Foolproof

Medical Innovation: new device the size of a grain of rice that can deliver drugs to treat pancreatic cancer

In a significant medical breakthrough, the Houston Methodist Academic Institute has developed a new device the size of a grain of rice that can deliver drugs to the pancreas to treat pancreatic cancer. The amount of medication required for these devices to be effective is four times smaller than that needed for traditional treatment of pancreatic tumors. This is excellent news.

Is Impatience Holding You Back as An Athlete? by Matt Fitzgerald

Endurance sports require patience, but impatient athletes risk hindering their potential. It takes time to fully develop the aerobic system. Patience is common among endurance athletes, but can be difficult to develop. Impatience can lead to further injury, as setbacks can cause athletes to rush their return. Listening to one’s body and allowing it to dictate progress can help reduce injury rates. In cases like long covid, patience becomes critical. Athletes can channel their passion for running into serving others, explore alternative ways to improve health and fitness, and aim for new achievements while waiting for a safe return to running.
